That's the best kind, and a website makes it work harder. When someone passes your name on, the first thing the new customer does is Google you. If nothing comes up, a little doubt creeps in and some of them ring the next name instead. A proper site, with your reviews on it, makes the recommendation stick.
I'm on Checkatrade already.
Checkatrade lists you next to five rivals, on their page, under their rules. Your own website is just you, on your own address, with your Google reviews and your badges, and nobody else's phone number in sight. It also works where directories can't: when people ask ChatGPT or Google for a good local business, a real website is what gets found. Keep the listing if it pays for itself; this is the bit you own.
